Gansu apple enters the Australian market for the first time

On September 4, 19 tons of Red Fuji apples declared by Jingning County Hongliufu Fruit Industry Co., Ltd. were successfully exported to Australia after passing the quarantine of Pingliang Customs under Lanzhou Customs. This is the first time that Gansu Apple has entered the Australian market.

Located in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River, the Longdong region of Gansu Province has deep soil layers, sufficient sunlight, large temperature difference between day and night, and few diseases and insect pests. It is the dominant area and the best suitable area for apple production in the Loess Plateau. It is also the main production base for high-quality late-maturing varieties and green and organic apples in the Northwest Loess Plateau.

In order to promote the expansion of exports of high-quality fruits, since this year, Pingliang Customs has strengthened supervision and strengthened the standardized construction and management of outbound orchards, guided and urged orchards to strictly manage the standardized use of agricultural chemical inputs, and control the quality and safety of exported fruits from the source. At the same time, the customs optimizes services, further streamlines the administrative approval process, reduces the time limit for approval, supports companies to quickly obtain export qualifications, actively recommends qualified companies to register with the outside, and conducts point-to-point training for companies with export intentions, sends standards, publicizes policies, and guides companies make good use of various business-benefit policies and support and assist companies to actively explore diversified international markets.

According to statistics, in the first seven months of this year, Gansu Province exported 26,000 tons of fresh apples with a value of RMB 190 million. The export countries involved Mexico, Uzbekistan, Australia and other countries and regions. (Economic Daily News)
