The National Symposium on Standardized Production of Short Anvil Apples (Lingtai, Gansu) opened on October 14, 2020 in Lingtai County, Gansu Province. The meeting was hosted by China Apple Industry Association, National Apple Industry Technology System, Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, CPC Pingliang Municipal Party Committee, and Pingliang Municipal People’s Government, and hosted by Pingliang Forestry and Grassland Bureau, CPC Lingtai County Party Committee, and Lingtai County People’s Government.

Yang Yi, president of the China Apple Industry Association, announced the opening of the conference. The opening ceremony was presided over by Song Quanke, Deputy Mayor of Pingliang City, Huo Xuexi, Chief Expert of the National Apple Industry System, Tang Ruhai, Deputy Mayor of Pingliang City, Ma Zhanying, Second Inspector of Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Liu Kai, Secretary of Lingtai County Party Committee, gave speeches.

After the opening ceremony, more than 100 people from all over the country, including experts and scholars, university researchers, academic leaders and relevant government leaders, conducted fruit tastings on the 8 apple varieties currently grown in Lingtai. After testing and tasting comments by the on-site expert group, it is believed that all indicators of Lingtai Apple are excellent, and the evaluation opinions of Lingtai apple fruit are issued.

There were more than 400 participants from all over the country. After the conference there are investigation and inspection of the Lingtai County Plantation Demonstration Garden, the Modern Fruit Industry Development Forum, the National Standardized Production of Short Anvil Apples (Lingtai, Gansu) academic seminar and the National Apple Short Anvil intensive cultivation cooperation group annual meeting, picking experience activities, etc.
