Shaanxi is the main producing area of apples in China. Among them, the quality and price of Luochuan apples and Baishui apples are the vane leading the Chinese apple market, highlighting the important position of Shaanxi apples. Huo Xuexi, a professor at Northwest A&F University, said that Shaanxi apples have a large area, a large output and a large market impact, but the overall efficiency and quality are not high.

To this end, he suggested to promote the appropriate scale of the apple industry organization, launch the orchard integration plan in accordance with the "public products + private products" model, standardize the transfer market of agricultural land contract rights, rectify counterfeit fruit-related cooperatives, and build an efficient business model. At the same time, continue to adjust the apple industry structure, optimize the variety structure, integrate scientific and educational resources, and promote the integration of intelligent technology with sorting and grading, storage, processing, cold chain logistics, and market monitoring to enhance the competitiveness of apples after production.

“With the changes in the climate and environment, the layout of the apple production area shows a trend of moving westward and northward, and the Guanzhong production area has become less and less advantageous. "At present, we have deployed 46 modern apple demonstration bases across the country, with a total area of 115,000 mu." Gao Liang said that from 2004 to the present, Shaanxi Province has approved and introduced more than 20 varieties, but in new varieties There is still a long way to go in terms of production area adaptability, large-scale promotion and market recognition; and Shaanxi’s large-area orchards are still cultivated in arborization or semi-dwarf cultivation, with low scale and mechanization. In terms of plant protection, load capacity, and post-harvest management, the depth, breadth, and promotion and application of research still need to be strengthened.

In this regard, Gao Liang suggested that the provincial government should lead the establishment of the "Apple Industry High-Quality Development Fund". The fund can be invested in stages, sectors or regions, starting from the weakest sector, from scientific research, demonstration, to Promotional institutions should be supported by funds to fundamentally solve the bottleneck problem faced by the high-quality development of the Apple industry.

 Zhao Zhengyang, a professor at Northwest A&F University, believes that to accelerate the high-quality development of the Shaanxi apple industry and achieve the strategic goal of "transformation and upgrading", there are still many problems and challenges.

Zhao Zhengyang suggested that to consolidate the status of Shaanxi apples in China’s “leading sheep”, it is necessary to make a new plan for the “upgraded version” of the industrial layout, and redefine the core production areas (priority development areas), key development areas and controlled development areas of Shaanxi Apple And put forward guiding opinions on the scale of development; at the same time, strengthen policy guidance to promote the integrated development of the apple industry and county economy in key counties (districts); implement differentiated development, and the southern Weibei production area should focus on "reduction and transformation" The production areas in northern Weibei should focus on "improving quality and efficiency", and the production areas in southern Shaanxi should take the road of "ecological and characteristic" development.
