She has been to more than 10 countries including the United States, Australia, France, Canada, Austria, Poland, Italy, and New Zealand for academic exchanges or cooperative research. Doctor Guo presided over or participated in more than 15 national and provincial research projects; obtained 4 provincial scientific and technological progress, applied for patents and authorized patents in total; published 260 papers, including 61 SCI papers, she is Food chemistry, Carbohydrate Reviewer of polymers and International journal of biological macromolecules.

Professor Guo Yurong has carried out research on the storage and processing of fruits and vegetables, technological innovation and product development of whole fruit utilization of horticultural products, and high-value utilization of processing by-products, and created a whole fruit nutrient utilization technology based on separation before pressing. She established a differentiated utilization model for fruit juice, pulp solids, peel and fruit seeds, and developed pulp fiber, peel polyphenols, fruit seed oil, pulp solid fermentation products, NFC, smoothy and other products.
