Deputy director of the Institute of Horticultural Crops, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and a core member of the provincial innovation team for temperate fruit industry technology of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He is mainly engaged in the research of low-latitude plateau fruit industry technology.

He is currently the head of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau Fruit Science Observation and Experimental Station of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the head of the Zhaotong Comprehensive Experimental Station of the National Apple Industry Technology System. He is also a director of the Chinese Horticultural Society and the executive vice chairman of the Ninth Council of the Yunnan Horticultural Society.

In the past 10 years, he has undertaken 4 national and provincial R&D projects, selected 7 new varieties of fruit trees such as bananas and apples, won 2 Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, obtained 3 patents, published 10 papers, and published 4 monographs. He has accumulated rich experience in the breeding of new varieties of temperate deciduous fruit trees in low-latitude plateaus, and research on sustainable development technology of mountain orchards. Together with team members, he has made important contributions to the establishment of a low-latitude plateau deciduous fruit industry technology research and development system.
