Yan Zhenli

Researcher, Deputy director of the Fruit Tree Germplasm Improvement Research Center of Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute, the post expert of the National Apple Industry Technology System, the editor of the Fruit Growers’ Friend, and the director of the Apple Branch of the Chinese Horticultural Society .

Main research fields and achievements: apple breeding and production promotion, studied at the Italian Mediterranean Agricultural College from 2000 to 2001. Research in apple breeding technology, new variety breeding, industrial demonstration and promotion, and successively bred new apple varieties such as Huamei, Huayu, Jinxiuhong, Asus, Huadan, Huarui, Huajia, Huaxing, etc. This variety has been authorized as a new plant variety, and won 3 times second-class prizes for scientific and technological progress of the province and ministry. Five varieties (lines) have entered the international evaluation test under the agency of two foreign companies, and one of the varieties has authorized the international company to enter the international promotion and application.
